fine jewellery

Care and protection of your fine jewellery is vital to its longevity and preservation. Always handle your piece with care, we recommend the following daily considerations; remove the piece when washing your hands or using corrosive products that could damage the precious metals or stones. Avoid contact with perfume, soap, chemical products, cosmetics, water or extreme temperature changes. For professional cleaning services, consult our aftercare team.

cleaning & maintenance

Your piece should be cleaned regularly to preserve its lustre and remove any fine scratches. Our roster of highly skilled craftsmen carries out every cleaning and maintenance process by hand to ensure the functional and structural integrity of the piece is maintained. If your piece includes pearls, emeralds, coral or a significant cluster of diamonds, the task of cleaning and maintenance should be entrusted to one of our specialists. At a minimum, we recommend scheduling one service a year for fine jewellery and timepiece purchases noting that polishing removes a fine layer of metal and should only be undertaken when necessary.

Storage - Fine jewellery

Properly storing fine jewellery is crucial to prevent any unwanted scratches or damage. To safeguard your precious pieces from scratches, it's advisable to store them in their original boxes or packaging, keeping them separate from other jewellery. For chains, make sure to close them and lay them flat to prevent any entanglements, twists, or distortions. Additionally, it's important to avoid exposing your jewellery to sudden temperature fluctuations. To ensure a worry free wear, we suggest regularly inspecting all clasps for any potential damage to their mechanical components.

timepieces

Proper care and maintenance are essential for preserving the longevity and value of your timepiece, whether you're an experienced collector or a first-time buyer. Regardless of how frequently you wear your watch, regular cleaning is crucial. To clean the face and case, we suggest using a damp soft cloth, cotton buds, a chamois cloth, or a very gentle bristled brush. When it comes to cleaning fluid, a small amount of water or dish soap will generally suffice. If you have any concerns about the durability or water resistance of your watch, we recommend reaching out to our dedicated customer support team for further assistance.

Storage - timepieces

Proper storage and protection of your watch, along with guarding against dust and moisture, are of utmost importance. For optimal care, we suggest storing your watch in an Elita Presentation Case, in a cool and dry location. It's crucial to avoid exposing your watch to dampness, mould, mildew, or extreme temperature changes as these factors can potentially affect the movement and materials of your timepiece. Additionally, stainless steel bands or bezels should not be stored in an airtight box without regular cleaning, as the outer oxide layer of the metal may rust. To prevent this issue, we recommend periodically keeping the lid of the Elita Presentation Case open.

servicing & maintenance

Your timepiece should be serviced every two years subject to the amount of time you spend wearing the piece, the nature and complexity of the movement and the environment that you store it in. Our Master Watchmakers can undertake the assessment, cleaning and repair of all vintage and contemporary pieces and we encourage you to speak to a member of our customer support team about a suitable servicing and maintenance regime for your piece.
